Stupid sitting here stupid no party stupid!
Okay first of all, let me just stamp and scream for a few moments that I am not at the Clarion West party. I demand that everyone in attendance have an extra good time, and that after the party ends, the excess good-time-having be combined into the full-sized good time that I would have enjoyed had I been there. And then e-mailed to me. >:| I miss you all, and I know you miss my delightful hot pink trousers.

Now that I'm done tantruming,* let me share [info]spencimusprime's hilarious critique of Noble Quest:

I also could have stayed with the rest of my crit group and watched Tim Burton's Batman, but I intend to be productive. I will now channel my frustration and crybabiness** into wordcount: 46K, here I come!

* Now a word.

** Also now a word.

Hey! I want to go to a Clarion West party! Are there any more happening? How do I get an invite?

You ask the guy who didn't go?! ;) I don't think they're invitation only--you could probably e-mail Clarion West to find out when/where. I confess I really don't know. I went with a group last time.

Actually they are sort of invitation-only. The list consists of people who have attended or taught in the past, local pro writers, Clarion staff, and other hanger-ons like myself who volunteer their time to support Clarion.

However anyone can tag along with someone who has an invite. Heck, you could even just show up (if you know where it is that week) and no one would say anything.

There is one more party, next Friday in Seattle.

Hi, there! Well, I've had invites in the past, when I was putting on A Writer's Weekend, but I seem to have dropped off the invite list!

Do you mind if I friend you on lj? We've met several times at Foolscap...

I can't drive, no one I know who drives was going, and I am so poor I'm considering a little Batman-style rhubarb fondling for cash.

Just kidding.

...But seriously, I hear you can make good cash that way.

Oh. Also your sister is talking to you in a post that you apparently missed.

Oh, just rub it in, Jack! ;) haha But seriously, maybe I'll make the one next week. It's important, because your T-shirts are like a tree in the forest: they might not be funny if I'm not viewing them.

None of your friends drive? You need new friends.

Usually, the invitations go to:
1. Anyone on the Clarion West party list*
2. Anyone the host invites

*Faculty, alum, current students, and donor$

Friday. But I'm still hoping not to be the designated driver...
